Arrive Montreal and check into your centrally located gay-friendly hotel accommodation where you will stay for the next 2 or 3 nights – you choose!

Montreal, the second largest city in Canada, after Toronto, is the largest bilingual city in North America and draws upon the combined strengths of its French and British roots to attract newcomers from around the world.  It’s old world charm and New World effervescence are unquestionably woven into the fibre of the metropolis, but it’s the wondrous amalgam of cultures that gives Montreal it unique cachet.

The Village, just east of downtown, is one of the largest queer districts in North America. Throughout most of the year, it’s a quiet and quirky neighborhood of gays, lesbians, families and cozy B+Bs housed in century-old duplexes and triplexes. And from June to September, the Village is a big celebration of diversity, where out-of-towners mix with locals, dine al fresco, shop profusely, and relax under the sun with a cocktail or two or dance the night away at Club Unity, the city’s most popular gay bar!  We’ve included a visit to Cabaret Mado, alegendary venue named in honor of its legendary owner, popular drag queen Mado. This Sainte Catherine Street hotspot is a great place to dance and catch some terrific cabaret – here you will enjoy a Rainbow Martini especially from Queen Mado! – Exclusive to Rainbow High travelers.

On your first morning, depart on a Foodie Adventure to discover the flavours and aromas of Old Montreal - this walking tour will allow you to discover the delicious cultural and historic culinary charms of the oldest district of Montreal; see specialty shops and boutiques in the area that are housed in old factories and showrooms from the 19th century. As you follow the narrow and winding streets of Old Montreal, your professional tour guide will feed your hunger for knowledge on the history of Montreal and its many culinary pleasures.  After your food tour, we’ll be you’re hungry, so let’s head to Swartz’s Deli! Home of the World Famous Original Smoked Meat with over 80 years of tradition!  Swartz’s Deli is the oldest deli in Canada, a Montreal classic…you won’t want to miss this.

In the afternoon, be sure to shop! – shopping to Montrealers is as important as dining out; a visit to Simon’s department store on Ste-Catharine is a must for great Quebec inspired fashion; Old Montreal for hand-made crafts and unique souvenirs and high-end shopping on rue Sherbrooke are recommended.  Oh and guys, make sure to shop along Rue Peel which is known for great men’s fashions.  For food shopping head to Old Montreal to Marche Bonsecours to see its many boutiques with hand-made items, food vendors and terrace restaurants; the Canadian Maple Delights store on St. Paul East featuring delicious baked goods, waffles, gelatos or sorbets on site, where you can discover a wide variety of products all made with pure Canadian maple syrup, maple sugar or honey; and finally to Maison Birk’s (Fine Jewellers) to the new Birk’s Café par Europa; on the mezzanine floor of the legendary Birks jewellery store, patrons can enjoy brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, snacks, and even a glass of wine in an elegant and relaxing setting. The Café also offers a fine selection of pastries and sweets available to take home and we strongly suggest the Rainbow coloured “macarons” which come in elegant boxes of 8 – were they made for especially for Rainbow High travelers? – We think so!

In the evening what’s better than a gourmet dining experience in Old Montreal, lined with fine restaurants in historical old homes and factories with a charm specific to Montreal; we have several which offer delectable French or contemporary cuisine just for you!  Enjoy your night.

Finally, for you final day we offer a full-day touring experience to the Eastern Townships Wine Region.  Your tour begins with an introductory wine tasting class given at one of Quebec's finest wineries. This class prepares your senses for the rest of the day in the Eastern Township's wine country. You then head towards the village of Dunham rich in history, fine wines and ciders. For lunch, you will stop in a beautiful winery. Surrounded by breath taking sceneries, a delicious gourmet lunch is served. To finish this day, stop in one last winery selected by your guide. It's a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of your typical day in the city.  Tour includes: transportation, 3 Winery visits, Lunch, Fine Cheese Tastings, Introduction to Wine Tasting and Professional Guide.  Transfer back to your hotel in Montreal.

Merci de Montréal !
